Nonchi Wang

Since his graduation from Yale University School of Architecture in 1987, Mr. Wang has dedicated his professional life in the United States in the design and planning of complex institutional and commercial projects. He joined with Tai Soo Kim Partners, a well-known design firm for their institutional and educational projects, in 1987 for six years before he launched his own practice in 1993, establishing amphibianArc. Design excellence and high quality service to the clients have been the defining elements of Mr. Wang's practice. Mr. Wang has won national and international recognition through numerous design awards and publications. Due to his enthusiastic pursuit of creative solution in all projects and the entailing success he enjoyed in the past years, amphibianArc is gaining prestigious institutional and commercial commissions in both the United States and China.

Frank Weeks

Senior Managing Architect
Frank Weeks is a California licensed, LEED AP Architect with nearly 20 years experience in professional architectural practice. He has worked in a broad range of creative, technical, and managerial roles, including twelve years as Senior Associate Architect at Gehry Partners, working on high-profile international hospitality, educational, planning, residential, and cultural building projects. Built projects of note include the Peter B. Lewis project at Case Western Reserve University (2002) and the Novartis Campus building (2009), both designed by the international architect, Frank O. Gehry.
Mr. Weeks has a particular passion for interpreting human environmental interaction and creating consistency of intent at all scales. In addition to design, he is also highly experienced with defining and documenting formally complex structures in 3D, having helped develop Mr. Gehry's Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) processes.
Mr. Weeks began his architectural training at Phillips Exeter Academy where he received the Franke Architecture Prize. He graduated from the architecture program at the University of Virginia and received his MArch from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). He also has a great interest in mentoring other architects and designers and is currently an adjunct professor at El Camino College in the department of Industry and Technology where he teaches distance education courses in CAD.

Zhilong Pan
Director of Administration
Pan Zhilong has been involved in construction related business for decades. He was a trader and importer of construction steel during the 80's and 90's in Shanghai when China economy was in nascent state. Because of his geographic advantage of being in Shanghai when the city was becoming the new financial center of China and East Asia, Pan has participated in numerous building projects in various capacities and witnessed the first hand the amazing transformation of modern Shanghai.
Because of his knowledge in construction and building systems in general, he was recruited to head up the construction management at Bading Real Estate Development Co. to develop a 150 meter tall high-rise building at a prime location of Pudong Lujiazui. This property then was chosen by CITI Group to be its headquarter in China. During construction, Pan managed procurement of all major building systems and has dealt with companies such as Otis, Mitsubishi, Kohler, Honeywell. He was also responsible for all contract negotiations with professional service vendors.
Linqi Mei

Upon his graduation from Tsinghua University in 1997, Linqi started his professional practice in Shanghai, experiencing the most vibrant urban development of China. During five years' working in Shanghai, he developed himself from an intern architect to a project architect. In 2002, Linqi came to USA to pursuit his master degree in University of Southern California. Within one and half year study there, he dedicated his enthusiasm into an integration mode of architecture and urban regeneration. In the following years after receiving the master degree in Dec 2003, Linqi worked for Moore Ruble Yudell architects & planners in 2003-2004, and for RTKL Associates in 2004-2008. In both firms he contributed most of his time and interest in dealing with the design and management for diverse multi-scale project types. Later in 2009, he found a better opportunity to work for amphibianArc - a design-oriented firm with genius designers. In this refreshing environment, he widens his professional vision with multi-disciplinary design approach, integrating knowledge from fashion, media, hi-tech and social issues. His experience in both China and USA has made Mei an invaluable asset to his project team.

Luoya Tu

After graduation from UCLA in 2008, Luoya Tu started her professional practice in Los Angeles. Since joining amphibianArc in 2009, she has been responsible for designing and coordinating many of the firm's innovative, award winning projects, such as Foshan new city mass transit center, 3D calligraphy, and 12+1 Cubes residence etc. She is currently focused on managing and coordinating the firm's Chinese projects.
Prior to joining amphibianArc, she served as a project manager in CCDI Beijing and project designer in Studios Architecture Los Angeles. She has worked on multiple high profile projects that range from single family house to large scale mixed use development projects. Under her leadership in CCDI, the design team won a series mixed use and residential competitions in 2007. In 2009, her built project, Affiliated Campus School of Peking University gained the third prize of China National Outstanding A&E Design Award, one of the most prominent design awards in China.

Sam Keville

Digital & Media Design Manager
With a motivation to connect both architecture and computer technology, Sam bases his work around the use of advanced computer technologies. This includes working with the different 3D software, model printing techniques, and presentation imagery creation. Notable projects he has made a contributions to at amphibianArc include the Three Rivers Estuary and Foshan Dongping acclaimed design packages. At Vertex Productions he was involved in their Porta Moda masterplan for Tunisia, Africa and their design for a new Bollywood Themepark in Mumbai, India. As a 3D visualizer he has worked for Mass Arch on the Naked Pizza corporate literature and maintains other independent rendering jobs currently. As the Digital & Media Design Manager, he is an integral part of the team, working to develop new techniques in form creation and help with methods of streamlining production.

Kisung Nam

Designer
After receiving his Master's degree from Sci-Arc in 2009, Kisung participated in large-scale projects including master plans, resorts, theme parks, and high-rise towers. Since joining amphibianArc in 2011, Kisung has used digital methodologies to focus on the design and visualization of the formal and aesthetic aspects of architecture. The projects he has worked on include the Hanhai Huanghe Road and Hanhai Wenhua Road Mix-Use developments, and the master planning of the Long Feng Manufacturing Facility and the Shanquin Bay Hotel and Resort-Villa.
From 2003 to 2006, Kisung worked with TOMA architects, a design-oriented firm in Seoul, Korea. Kisung's role at TOMA ranged from from marketing to schematic design, construction administration, design, and project management. His experience includes single-family residential, multi-family residential, and commercial projects, most of which were built and published.

David Van Arsdell

Designer
David joined amphibianArc in 2010 and has contributed to many projects including the Calligraphy in Space residence and the award winning Foshan New City Metro Center. David's expertise in 3D software facilitates the firm's fluid and flexible design process from formal exploration to precise 3D models that can be used for fabrication. David's interest in the firm's unique design process has motivated him to continue to explore new programs and techniques.
Before joining amphibianArc, David worked on all phases of the residential design process at Ninth Street Studio, a small design firm in Vancouver, Washington. In 2008, he had the opportunity to work with Sienna Architecture in Portland, where he was an integral team member for the design of several high-rise mixed-use projects in Dubai and Vietnam.

Shu Yang
Marketing Coordinator
Ms. Shu Yang is responsible for communications and marketing strategy. She also works closely with the directors to streamline the management and operations of the Los Angeles office.
Prior to joining amphibianArc, Shu worked as a program coordinator and executive assistant in the art and architecture industry in Los Angeles and Boston.
